CT’s Pescatello re-elected NEBA chair

Paul Pescatello, who helms Connecticut’s largest biotechnology and biopharmaceutical promoter, has been re-elected to a second term as chairman of the New England Biotech Association (NEBA).

Pescatello is the long-time president and CEO of CURE — Connecticut United for Research Excellence.

He was re-elected Tuesday to a two-year term as NEBA chair at its annual meeting in Wakefield, Mass. The nonprofit group has more than 600 members comprised of state biotech associations, companies, academic institutions, and other organizations in the six-state region.

A founding NEBA board member, Pescatello said the regional organization’s priority “will be to explore and explain the impact” of national health care reform implementation on New England’s biotech and biopharma sector.

“Clearly, NEBA can play a role in helping our members–as well as policy leaders and the public–better understand what it will mean for jobs and discovery in the biosciences field,” he said in a statement.
