CT’s outbound migration gap narrows

More people moved out of Connecticut than into it during 2013, but the gap narrowed a bit from the year before, according to an annual study by United Van Lines.

Of the 3,508 Connecticut-related moves completed by UVL, 57 percent were outbound. That was tied with Massachusetts for the highest outbound ratio in New England, and the 10th highest in the country, according to the 2014 National Movers Study, released Friday.

But it was down from 59 percent a year ago.

New Jersey had the highest ratio of outbound moves percentage, at 65 percent, while Oregon took the top spot, with 66 percent inbound moves.
