CT’s Nov. home permits fall off

Connecticut homebuilding sank into its seasonal fall swoon in November, with builder-developers filing for barely half the number of building permits they did in October and fewer than a year earlier, new data shows.

There 232 building permits filed last month in 128 cities and towns regularly surveyed by the state Department of Economic and Community Development, the agency said Tuesday.

In October, 433 permits to erect single- and multi-family housing were issued. There were 272 permits issued in November 2013, DECD said.

Homebuilding traditionally tapers off in the fall and winter months due to wetter, snowier climate and colder temperatures.
