CT’s new U.S. attorney takes office

Greenwich lawyer David B. Fein has been sworn in as Connecticut’s newest U.S. attorney, The Associated Press reports.

The 49-year-old Fein, who was confirmed by the Senate last week, was sworn into office as the federal government’s top prosecutor in Connecticut on Monday.

President Barack Obama nominated Fein, who had been a partner at the law firm of Wiggin and Dana in Stamford since 1997. He served as an associate White House counsel to President Bill Clinton from 1995 to 1996 and was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Nora R. Dannehy, who was U.S. attorney since April 4, 2008, will resume her duties as deputy U.S. attorney
