New housing construction remained lackluster across Connecticut in May.
The state Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), citing Census Bureau data from 104 sampled communities, said just 260 permits to build single- or multi-family housing were issued statewide last month.
That compares to 329 issued in May 2018, and 613 granted in April, DECD data showed.
Among communities sampled, Greenwich (19), Fairfield (14) and Prospect (14) were tops in number of homebuilding permits granted last month.
