CT’s Legrand buying Iowa IT cabling firm

West Hartford electrical and data-network cabling products vendor Legrand North America Inc. is buying an Iowa firm that makes copper and fiber-optic communications cable assemblies to deepen both Legrand’s product catalog and customer base, authorities say.

Legrand, housed at 60 Woodlawn St., said its deal for undisclosed terms cover Lastar Inc.’s Quiktron and C2G divisions. Quiktron, based in Albia, Iowa, produces the copper and fiber optic cable assemblies. The other, C2G, of Moraine, Ohio, supplies cabling and connectivity products for the audio-visual and information technology industries.

“We are focused on providing a more integrated infrastructure solution, including cable assemblies, connectivity, cabinets, racks, cable tray, and cable management solutions that will help address our customers’ requirements for next-generation data communications demands,” Legrand President and CEO John Selldorff said in a statement.

The deal awaits the customary federal antitrust review, officials said.
