Connecticut saw 255 permits issued for single- and multi-family housing in January, authorities say.
The state Department of Economic and Community Development announced Monday that, starting with January’s tally, only 104 cities and towns are included in the monthly permit report.
DECD said it relies on the U.S. Census Bureau to harvest monthly permit data. However, the bureau notified the state agency that its Connecticut sample base has fallen from the 128 cities and towns surveyed over the past decade.
That means comparisons for January’s and subsequent monthly permit tallies are no longer valid.
