Avon applications-technology developer iDevices is partnering with one of the nation’s leading turkey processors to promote iDevices’ wireless kitchen-thermometer apps.
Beginning this month, purchasers of packages of Jennie-O Turkey Store Inc. fresh, frozen, chilled and deli turkey products can collect $10-off coupons towards the purchase of iDevice’s Bluetooth Smart brand thermometers, the iDevices Kitchen Thermometer and Kitchen Thermometer mini, officials announced Monday.
The thermometers allow cooks to remotely monitor the temperature of cooking meat from up to 150 feet away. The user gets an alert through the app once turkey is fully cooked to an ideal 165 degrees and ready to take out of the oven or off the grill.
“We are proud to partner with Jennie-O to help educate consumers about the importance of food safety and how to perfectly cook nutritious JENNIE-O® turkey with the help of an iDevices Kitchen Thermometer,” iDevices marketing manager Lianne Kersey said in a statement.
Jennie-O, of Willmar, Minn., is owned by Hormel Foods, one of the nation’s largest fresh-meat processors.
