Stamford’s Health Media Network says it bought the vendor of waiting-room digital screens in more than 1,500 doctors’ offices nationwide.
Health Media didn’t say what it paid for Waiting Area Media Group TV’s assets.
However, six-year-old HMN says the deal boosts its market share to more than 30,000 the medical offices receiving its care-based programming.
WAMG TV mainly served the offices of diabetes, cardiology and primary care practitioners, HMN CEO Christopher Culver said.
HMN provides education and health content in physician waiting rooms via 23 specialty health television networks. Programming is free to physicians but content is supported by advertising, mostly from drug makers.
