CT’s Harmon amps up its 2Q profit volume

Stamford home and car audio maker Harman International Industries Inc. saw fiscal-second quarter profit rise 12 percent.

For three months ended Dec. 31, Harman netted $59 million, or 82 cents a fully diluted share, up from $53 million, or 74 cents, netted the same period a year earlier.

Second-quarter revenues were up 18 percent to $1.1 billion vs. $956 million last year.

Harman also declared a cash dividend of 7 ½ cents a share to be paid on March 5 to stockholders on record by Feb. 17.
