Naugatuck aviation components maker Gar Kenyon reshuffled its executive suite in the wake of its recent purchase of a New Jersey maker of pneumatic control valves and pressure regulators.
Khoi Vu is now president and chief operating officer, a promotion from his vice president and general manager slot since joining the company a year ago.
Vu’s predecessor, Steven Fournier, who had been president and chief executive officer, now becomes chairman and CEO, focusing on acquisitions, business development and growth.
“I will be spending less time on the day-to-day opeartions of the business,” Fournier said. “I can now focus more on key growth opportunities.”
In addition to Vu and Fournier, Gar Kenyon on Monday promoted Jonathan Fournier, director of operations and planning, and Sam Aconfora, director of human resources and strategic sourcing, to vice presidents while remaining in their current responsibilities.
Jonathan Fournier is the son of Steven Fournier.
In November, Gar Kenyon bought General Pneumatics Corp. for an undisclosed price, expanding the Naugatuck company’s existing pneumatics products line and bringing new technology under the 60-year-old company’s umbrella.
Gar Kenyon’s aviation customers include Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Honeywell, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and the Department of Defense, among others. The company also makes hydraulic components.
