New London mobile-device app and software publisher Digital Angel Corp. signed a long-term deal with a well-known Hollywood video-game studio to develop original content for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices.
Financial terms of Digital Angel’s deal with High Impact Games LLC, of Burbank, Calif., weren’t disclosed.
The first games are due for release for iOS and Android devices early next year under the Digital Angel label.
Digital Angel’s new CEO, L. Michael Haller, and High Impact owner Atsuko Kubota have history together. High Impact produced such videogame classics as Ratchet and Clank for Sony’s PlayStation, and Disney Princesses to the first Call of Duty on console.
“Mike has been a strong supporter and partner since the inception of High Impact,’’ Kubota said, “and we are excited to have the opportunity to work together again and extend our reach into the rapidly growing mobile game market.”
Digital Angel also distributes two-way communications equipment in the United Kingdom.
