Ridgefield’s Chefs’ Warehouse Inc. paid $54.3 million for Ohio protein distributor Michael’s Finer Meats LLC, its fourth acquisition in more than a year that expands to eight its regional markets served, authorities said Monday.
In 1962 by Michael Bloch, the Columbus, Ohio, meat and seafood distributor that today does about $80 million a year in sales to restaurants, country clubs, hotels and casinos in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and western Pennsylvania.
Chefs’ also serves metropolitan New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Las Vegas and Portland, Ore.
Chefs’ Chairman and CEO Chris Pappas said Michael’s is expected to contribute approximately 6 cents to 8 cents a share annually to diluted earnings once fully integrated but not until 2013.
