Connecticut rebounded in April with the addition of 7,900 jobs, holding the unemployment rate steady at 9.1 percent, state labor authorities say.
Jobs rose in nearly every sector of the state’s economy last month, the Connecticut Department of Labor said Thursday.
The state lost more than 6,500 jobs in March.
Education and health services sector with 3,800 extra jobs in April, the agency said. Next was the trade, transportation and utilities sector which added 3,700; and the leisure and hospitality sector with 2,200 additional jobs.
Employment in the government sector was down 2,200, while construction and financial activities sectors each posted 1,100 fewer jobs.
The information sector was mostly unchanged over the month.
