Connecticut’s insurance watchdog is giving out-of-state field adjusters too busy with blizzard-related claims in the state a 90-day extension on their emergency licenses.
Commissioner Thomas B. Leonardi said Wednesday many of them got emergency claims licenses right after storm Sandy in October.
His said his agency issued nearly 6,000 emergency adjuster licenses to more than 90 insurance companies for Storm Sandy requests.
“This automatic renewal will extend those licenses for three more months,” Leonardi said.
Insurers can access the Catastrophe Adjuster Licensing Program online through the department homepage.
