CTNext, the state’s quasi-public entrepreneurship booster, says it awarded $54,000 in grants to six Connecticut startups at the Entrepreneur Innovations Awards (EIA) last week.
CTNext, a subsidiary of Connecticut Innovations, hosts the annual pitch event for budding startups and entrepreneurs looking to score funding toward a project that will accelerate growth. This year’s event was held at Old Town Hall in Stamford.
The winners include:

Kolb Consultants ($12,000) — Developing a process to manufacture a kickboard that distributes the body weight evenly when swimming.

Actively AI ($10,000) – Creating an automated assistant for wellness businesses that handles customer experience and streamlines operations for staff.

Dualflo ($10,000) — Creating a self-seal technology to eliminate the need for open surgery in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures.

Encapsulate ($10,000) — Producing an effective chemotherapy solution with a fully automated tumor-on-a-chip, pre-prescription analysis.

Encaptiv ($10,000) — Developing a web-based presentation, sales and marketing software that pairs AI and machine learning.

VigorSential ($2,000) — Testing and developing a low-dose vaccine to control a bacterium mainly affecting cattle, which is resistant to common antibiotics.
Kolb Consultants also won the $2,000 crowd favorite award and VigorSential notched the $2,000 award for judges’ favorite.
Launched in 2012, CTNext currently has over 2,500 members.
