The state-backed entrepreneurial network CTNext said it has signed contracts with five entities that will provide an array of services to startups.
The one-year contracts, totaling approximately $470,000, are with the following businesses and groups:
• Connecticut Technology Council, East Hartford, will create a jobs and skills directory to match job seekers with companies.
• Business Council of Fairfield County, Stamford, will work to improve the supply and placement of technical and digital talent available to entrepreneurial companies in Fairfield County.
• MakeHaven, New Haven, will work to grow membership and speed the growth of sustainable revenue generation through a makerspace model.
• MEA Mobile, New Haven, will create an “App Academy” to teach commercial coding skills to recent college graduates.
• Spark Makerspace, New London, will create a membership-based community center for artists, students, inventors and entrepreneurs in southeastern Connecticut.
CTNext said it also added two entrepreneurs in residence, Jim McClafferty and Richard Guha, who will mentor Connecticut startups. CTNext now has more than 20 partners and six entrepreneurs in residence.
