The number of fatal workplace injuries in Connecticut rose nearly 14 percent in 2014, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said.
There were 33 fatal occupational injuries last year, up from 29 in 2013, according to BLS.
The 2014 number was lower than 2012 and 2011, when there were 36 and 37 fatalities, respectively.
The 10-year high was in 2010, when there were 49 fatal injuries.
The most common fatal injuries in the state last year were transportation related, such as car accidents. The second-most common fatal injuries were falls and violence by persons or animals, including self-inflicted injuries.
