The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund received a 2013 Energy Star partner of the year award.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded the fund for its Energize Connecticut initiative that contributed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by delivering energy efficiency information and services to customers.
The fund partnered with electric utilities Connecticut Lighting & Power and United Illuminating to increase Energy Star qualified homes through outreach, education, and marketing programs. Connecticut has one of the largest programs in the country with 14,687 energy efficient projects completed in 2012.
The award winners were selected from the 20,000 organizations that participate in Energy Star programs, and will be honored at a ceremony on March 26 in Washington, D.C.
