CT Water unveils $31M spending plan

Clinton utility parent Connecticut Water Service, Inc. on Monday announced its board of directors approved a $31.3 million capital spending plan for 2013.

The board approved $26.5 million for the Connecticut Water Co. with it 90,000 customers and $4.8 million for The Maine Water Co. with its 16,000 customers.

The plan includes $15 million for pipeline replacement in Connecticut. The utility has replaced an average of 50 miles of pipe annually since 2007.

The $31.3 million total does not include the capital investments Connecticut Water Service agreed to make at the Maine-based Biddleford and Saco Water Co. when the utility parent announced its intended acquisition in July. That deal is expected to close in December.
