Connecticut authorities want to suspend the law license of a former top attorney to President George W. Bush while the lawyer faces charges of trying to kill his wife because she wanted a divorce.
The state Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel filed paperwork this week to suspend John Michael Farren’s license, and wants a trustee appointed to handle his clients’ cases.
Farren was arrested Jan. 6 in New Canaan on charges of attempted murder and strangulation.
A date has not been set for a hearing over suspending his law license. He returns to Stamford Superior Court Jan. 21 for the criminal case.
Farren was deputy White House counsel during George W. Bush’s second term and also worked in President George H.W. Bush’s administration. (AP)
