Connecticut is demanding answers from Citigroup about its recent data breach that affected a small number of credit-card accounts in order to protect any affected state residents.
Attorney General George Jepsen wants to know wat the New York financial giant is doing to determine how its data files were breached, what information may have been breached, and what it is doing to shield against further incursions.
Citigroup has admitted that certain account information – name, account number and contact information, including e-mail address — of approximately 1 percent of its Citi North America bankcard customers was breached recently.
