CT victim advocate to resign post

State Victim Advocate Garvin G. Ambrose will resign his position in July to relocate to a job in Chicago, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s office announced.

Malloy appointed Ambrose in Feb. 2013. He will depart on July 18.

The Office of the Victim Advocate is charged with protecting the rights of crime victims in the state. It oversees state and private agencies that provide services to crime victims, and investigates complaints as it sees necessary.

The office’s advisory committee will meet June 17 to begin the process of finding Ambrose’s replacement.
