CT veterans memorial set for Hartford

Connecticut will erect a veterans memorial in the shadow of the State Capitol, saluting the state’s 1.3 million men and women who served their country.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and other state officials and veterans were on hand Tuesday for the announcement of plans to build the Connecticut State Veterans Memorial in Minuteman Park, across from the William A. O’Neill State Armory in Hartford.

Work begins this fall.

The nonprofit volunteer Connecticut State Veterans Memorial Inc. will oversee funding, design, and construction of the site, officials said.
