Picketing members of a building cleaners’ union have invited state Rep. Joe Verrengia to address their rally in front of Goodrich Corp. facility in West Hartford.
Union cleaners for Jani-King of Hartford are protesting the contractor’s alleged refusal to hire the Goodrich plant’s eight cleaners because some of them belong to the union.
The workers, who belong to Service Employees International Union, say the Jani-King’s alleged refusal violates federal law. Jani-King could not be immediately reached for comment.
Union members plan to rally from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Goodrich plant, One Charter Oak Blvd.
