Connecticut’s unemployment dropped to 8.4 percent in November, the lowest level since June 2009, state labor authorities say.
November marks the third straight month of declining unemployment, dropping from 8.7 percent in October, the state Labor Department said Monday.
The total nonfarm job count reached 1,628,700 in November, a monthly increase of 100 from October.
U.S. unemployment fell to 8.6 percent last month.
“While it’s good news that the state’s unemployment rate has declined for the third consecutive month … the report also points out the challenges we continue to face,” Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said in a statement.
