TranSwitch Corp.’s technology for amping up the image quality of video has caught the eye of one of China’s leading video-projector makers who the Shelton electronics firm says intends to incorporate it into its line of high-definition projectors.
Acto will design TranSwitch’s HDplay brand transceiver into the circuitry for Acto’s models DX9100 and DW9100 projectors.
The projectors are used for digital cinemas, conferences, meeting rooms and public displays.
Acto could be TranSwitch’s major springboard into the global market for high-quality, high-definition imaging.
One estimate is for the worldwide digital signage and professional display market to increase from 17.3 million units in 2012 to 25.8 million units in 2016.
TranSwitch also has pitched HDplay to makers of videogame systems.
