Westport’s Toyota and Lexus dealerships have been sold to a New York auto retail group, marking an ownership change for two prominent franchises along the Post Road corridor.
Keeler Motor Car Co., based in Latham, New York, acquired New Country Toyota of Westport, at 777 Post Road E., and New Country Lexus, at 1317 Post Road E., from New Country Motor Car Group, according to Haig Partners, an advisor to the seller.
The transaction also included New Country’s Audi Hawthorne dealership in Hawthorne, New York.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
New Country President Jared Cantanucci said the Connecticut divestitures were made to reposition capital in the Washington, D.C., market.
New Country operates 26 dealerships across several states. Its Connecticut holdings include Porsche and Audi dealerships in Greenwich, along with Mercedes-Benz and BMW stores in Hartford.
Keeler already has a Connecticut presence, owning a Genesis dealership in Norwalk and a BMW dealership in Ridgefield.
