CT tourism campaign to target Boston-area visitors

Eastern Connecticut tourism officials say they have launched a new push to lure Boston-area visitors to the region.

The Eastern Regional Tourism District’s campaign highlights the “Quiet Corner” of northeastern Connecticut as easy to reach, affordable, scenic and diverse.

Its officials hope to draw people who might otherwise drive north to Vermont and other states, but want to save on gasoline and take shorter trips.

The campaign includes billboards, commercials and Internet banner ads.
