Connecticut’s tax agency is scheduled to begin accepting electronically filed state income tax returns, The Associated Press reports.
Officials say the Department of Revenue Services will begin accepting the electronic returns Friday. More than 1.2 million returns, or 70 percent of income tax returns, were filed electronically last year, compared with 470,000 paper returns filed.
The agency says taxpayers who file electronically and choose direct deposit of refunds can expect to receive their refund within one week.
Free electronic filing is available through the Taxpayer Service Center at http://www.ct.gov/TSC and information can be found at http://www.ct.gov/DRS.
