CT to announce electric vehicle reward program

The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection on Wednesday will announce a new award program for automobile dealers to sell electric cars.

DEEP Commissioner Rob Klee wants the new program to help spur sales of electric vehicles in Connecticut.

The state already has started awarding grants up to $2,000 to building more electric vehicle charging stations. The goal is to have at least one station no more than 15 minutes from any point in the state.

Klee will announce the awards program Wednesday morning at the Connecticut Automotive Retailers Association breakfast in New Haven.
