Connecticut’s sales-tax-free week, which aims to give a boost to retailers before students go back to school, begins Sunday and runs through Saturday, Aug. 24, Gov. Malloy’s office reminded consumers today.
Malloy was slated to be Insane Irving’s in Bristol at noon today to promote the week.
The tax exemptions apply to most clothing and footwear priced at less than $300.
Handbags, wallets, sports uniforms and other types of specialty apparel do not qualify.
