CT study finds nonprofit pay hikes lagging

Most Connecticut nonprofits did not raise staff pay to keep pace with inflation last year, and many don’t intend to this year, a new compensation study shows.

Some three out of four nonprofits sampled reported not offering cost of living adjustments in 2010, according to the study from the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits and the Connecticut Business & Industry Association.

About 52 percent don’t plan on cost of living raises this year.

An almost equal percentage say they didn’t award merit raises this year, and about the same number of them say won’t this year either, the study said.
