Students at select Connecticut’s elementary, middle and high schools will receive a special education in solar energy, courtesy of a New York solar installer.
Mercury Solar Systems is making the rounds in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in April, May and June as part of an initiative to teach children the benefits of solar energy.
The Port Chester, N.Y. company has installed more than 20 megawatts of solar panels, including at the Stamford Central School District.
“Our objective is to create a cleaner environment for our children’s children and we have taken a small step towards that goal by launching this local initiative,” Mercury President Jared Haines said in a press release.
