CT State U.’s 2011 tuition frozen

Trustees of the Connecticut State University System voted Thursday to cut managers and continue the freeze pay for nonunion staff to keep next fall’s tuition unchanged.

The board had been expected not to raise tuition on the more than 36,000 students who attend the state’s four state universities — Western, Eastern, Central and Southern Connecticut State — the fiscal year that starts July 1, 2011.

It will be the first time in more than a decade that the state system has not raised tuition, officials said.
