A communications app maker recently relocated to Connecticut from the West Coast has drawn a $1.5 million equity infusion, half from the state’s technology investment promoter, authorities say.
Deets Inc. got a $750,000 from Connecticut Innovations Inc. to fund the move of its former headquarters from Olivos, Calif., to Westport, authorities said Tuesday. Unidentified individual investors put up the balance of the equity stake.
Deets, which kept a California satellite office, offers patent-pending technology that allows users to synchronize mobile emails, phone numbers and addresses using a customizable dashboard setup, officials said.
Its app was recently featured on Apple iTune’s “What’s Hot” list, officials said. Meantime, a deets app (the company lowercases the first letter in its name) for the Android mobile phone is due for release in the first quarter of 2013.
As is customary, CI took a seat on deet’s board.
