Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC – owned by a Greenwich investment firm – announced this week the development of three solar projects in Florida, the company’s first foray into the Sunshine State.
Two projects will be built in Gainesville, totally 483 kilowatts, and the third is a 10 megawatt project slated for a site in Taylor County near the Florida Panhandle.
“With these projects we are pleased to enter into the Florida solar market,” Nautilus Solar CEO James M. Rice said in a statement. “Gainesville Regional Utility has shown renewable energy leadership by offering one of the first municipal solar feed-in-tariff programs in the country. We look forward to working with them on these project and others in the future.”
Founded in 2006, Nautilus has its headquarters in New Jersey but is majority-owned by an investment affiliate of Starwood Energy Group Global, LLC in Greenwich.
