Colchester solar installer DCS Energy has launched its “Buy a Panel” program where businesses and residents can invest in a renewable energy development in Connecticut.
Under the program, participants can pay $800 for a solar panel, installation, accessories, and a 15-year warranty. The participants then will receive a 3-4 percent annual return payment over those 15 years.
The actual panels will be placed on a commercial or solar project, although the investors will maintain ownership – and the return on investment – of their individual panels. Participants can choose between residential and commercial projects.
DCS launched this program in February in Connecticut and plans to expand to other states in the coming months, with Florida next on the list.
