Connecticut companies with less than 20 workers grew their workforces by an average of 0.08 percent in January, according to an index compiled by Intuit QuickBooks.
That was slightly slower than the national average growth of 0.09 percent, the payroll software provider said.
Intuit uses data from 248,000 customers, gathered between Dec. 24 and Jan. 23, to compile the index.
The January index also revealed that hourly employees at small companies earned 0.4 percent more compensation, or an additional $13 from the month prior.
The number of hours worked also increased by 0.4 percent in January, an increase of 24 minutes on average.
