Connecticut companies with fewer than 20 workers employed 0.03 percent fewer people in September, according to technology firm Intuit QuickBooks’ Small Business Index.
Connecticut was one of 20 states that had its small business employment drop in September. The Nutmeg State was the 15th worst state for small business jobs lost in the month.
Nationally, small business employment declined 0.01 percent, as revenues at those businesses dropped 0.3 percent.
The worst state for small business employment loss was Wisconsin, which saw a decline of 0.4 percent, while the best state for small business employment gain was Nevada, with a 0.1 percent increase.
