CT shows jobs growth in ADP survey

Connecticut added 2,900 private sector jobs in October representing 0.2 percent growth from September. That puts the state slightly ahead of overall New England job growth of 0.12 percent.

Private sector employment increased in all four major regions and all nine U.S. Census Bureau Divisions during the month of Oct. 2015, according to the monthly ADP Regional Employment Report. It reported 182,000 non-farm sector jobs were added in October.

New England in October saw 7,700 new jobs. The Northeast added 15,900 new jobs.

Connecticut added more new jobs than New Jersey, which saw growth of 2,700 jobs. New York state saw growth of 7,800 jobs.

Nationally the small business segment (1-49 employees) was a big driver of job growth with 90,000 new positions. That compares to total new jobs in October of 182,000. Franchise employment grew by 52,500 positions.
