Connecticut consumers’ dissatisfaction with buying clubs/group purchasing services and Internet retailers led shoppers’ complaint lists in 2010, the same as a year earlier, the Connecticut Better Business Bureau says.
With some shuffling in the order from 2009, furniture retailers, insurance companies, new-car dealers, mailing services, magazine sales, used-car dealers, security-system installers/monitors, and market research-analysis rounded out the 2010 list of Top 10 complaints, the Connecticut BBB said.
Despite the number of complaints against companies in these categories, nine out of 10 of these business types had a complaint settlement rate of between 82 and 99 percent, bureau President Paulette Scarpetti says.
