Connecticut lost 4,300 jobs in December, reversing two previous months of job gains, the state Labor Department says.
Connecticut’s December unemployment rate was unchanged from 9 percent in November, the agency said.
For all of 2010, however, Connecticut added 5,300 jobs from 2009, authorities said.
“After two months of job gains that added 6,600 jobs, December proved to be disappointing in terms of the state’s recovery efforts,” said Labor Statistics analyst Salvatore DiPillo.
Leisure and hospitality, retail trade, professional and business services, educational and health services and manufacturing were sectors that shed jobs in December.
Other services and financial activities gained jobs, while three sectors — construction, information, and government — were unchanged, officials said.
