Prospective developers for the state’s Sunrise State Park in East Haddam will have open access to the 143-acre property on Feb. 3, authorities say.
Connecticut announced in December its search for a private partner to redevelop the former Sunrise Resort into a regional tourism destination.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the park’s steward, seeks bid proposals from developers to redevelop, manage, and operate the Sunrise State Park.Â
The site visit will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. The snow date is Feb. 6, the same time.
Prospective bidders who plan to attend the site visit should RSVP:Â deep.sunrisestatepark@ct.gov
Sunrise Resort opened in 1916 as Elm Camp. Seventy years later, the Robert Johnson family took ownership and managed it until 2008. DEEP bought the property in January 2009 for $3.2 million.
