The Connecticut Department of Transportation has awarded Middletown solar installer Greenskies Renewable Energy 12 construction contracts for solar photovoltaic arrays at service plaza locations on I-95, I-395 and Route 15.
Greenskies has completed eight of the projects ranging from three to 22 kilowatts.
The remaining four projects, in Darien and Branford, are under construction and will be completed by the end of 2013.
The projects will produce approximately 238,000 kilowatt hours annually, enough to power about 100 homes.
