CT releases $450K for solar thermal projects

The Connecticut Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority has made $450,000 available for a $2 million program to build 45 solar hot water projects throughout the state.

This round in the Commercial Solar Hot Water Program is designed as a transition between the federally-funded Solar Thermal Rebate Program, which ended in April, and a sustainable long-term program funded from the state’s ratepayers.

The program allows applicants to ask for grants and/or financing, although those asking for financing will receive priority in the selection.

This round of application is due Aug. 24. The next two solicitations for $900,000 and $575,000 worth of funding will close in October and late November.
