The Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Office of Health Care Access (OHCA) on Friday issued its final decision approving the acquisition of Greater Waterbury Health Network Inc. by for-profit operator Prospect Medical Holdings.
Attorney General George Jepsen’s office also signed off Friday on the deal, according to Modern Healthcare.
Prospect will pay $43.3 million for Greater Waterbury Health Network’s assets, including Waterbury Hospital. The company has committed to investing $55 million in capital improvements over the next seven years.
OHCA’s final decision maintains the conditions set forth in its proposed decision, which was issued last month.
