Connecticut consumers wanting to receive one of the first Toyota Prius plug-in hybrids can register online starting Friday.
In honor of Earth Day on Friday, Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc. will launch its priority registration online order system for the Prius plug-in, which will debut in spring 2012. The plug-in is an advanced version of the current Prius, which is a combined gasoline-electric car.
Connecticut is one of the 15 launch states for the Prius debut in 2012. The other states are Arizona, California, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.
Chevrolet and Nissan also established Connecticut as a launch market for its plug-in electric cars: the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf.
