CT recognized as energy efficiency ‘pack leader’

The Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships on Wednesday awarded Connecticut one of its “Leading the Pack” awards as a regional leader in energy efficiency.

NEEP assigned all Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states an efficiency ranking in its Regional Roundup of Energy Efficiency Policy report. After the top award, known as “Leading the Pack,” the other rankings were “Keeping Pace,” “Falling Behind,” or “On the Starting Blocks.”

Connecticut received the award for the 716,200 businesses and homes that participated in energy efficiency programs in 2011, as well as the state’s commitment to improve energy code, building policy and the formation of the Clean Energy Finance & Investment Authority.

Connecticut is joined in the top category by Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
