Connecticut’s work force training agency has received more than $3 million in federal stimulus funding to help train workers for so-called green energy jobs.
The grants are intended to teach workers skills for emerging industries in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The U.S. Department of Labor awarded the $3.3 million grant to the Connecticut Employment and Training Commission as part of nearly $190 million nationwide available in stimulus funding for job training grants.
Beneficiaries will include employed and unemployed workers, veterans, at-risk youth, ex-offenders and recent immigrants. (AP)
